The third One Day International (ODI) between India Vs England took place in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, two Indian bowlers, both had excellent performances.
Following an early defeat, they shown talent and determination by forming an important 116-run partnership for the second wicket. Despite losing captain Rohit Sharma for just 1(2), Kohli and Gill steadied the innings, both completing their respective half-centuries before Kohli fell to Adil Rashid for 52(55).
England’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss paid immediate dividends as Mark Wood dismissed Indian captain Rohit Sharma on just the second delivery of the innings. When Sharma tried to poke at a moving ball, it was caught behind, giving England an early lead.
Kohli and Gill, on the other hand, played cautiously and aggressively to stop England from building on this edge. They scored quickly, which kept India’s batting stable and put more pressure on England’s bowlers.
England only made one change to their starting eleven players. Jamie Overton was replaced by Tom Banton. India, meanwhile, made three changes. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja were rested, and Varun Chakaravarthy didn’t play because his calf hurt. This gave Arshdeep Singh, Washington Sundar, and Kuldeep Yadav a chance to show what they could do before the ICC Champions Trophy.
India vs England played their first ODI in Ahmedabad, which was the first time that that had happened. India was proud of how well they played before the Champions Trophy because they had already won the series.
Jos Buttler, who is captain of England, got the toss for the third time in a row and decided to bowl first. Even though England’s bowlers got a wicket early on, Kohli and Gill were hard to stop because they were very good at choosing their shots and keeping their aggressiveness in check.
England has not played well in this series, and they have not been able to build on good starts. In earlier games, their top order showed signs of promise, but they have lost a lot because they keep making mistakes. Even though England doesn’t have to worry too much about losing the series, going into a big event like the Champions Trophy after a big loss could hurt their confidence.
India’s biggest worry going into the Champions Trophy is that Jasprit Bumrah won’t be there. The BCCI publicly told the team that Bumrah would not be playing, and Harshit Rana took his place.
Running the show after Bumrah has been hard to do, even though Rana has done well in the first two ODIs. Another significant factor in India vs England has been Virat Kohli’s physique. The last time Kohli took home the Border-Gavaskar Trophy was a long time ago.
In the second ODI against England and the Ranji Trophy, he scored only eleven runs. He is back to being himself, as shown by the fact that he reached fifty in Ahmedabad. Fans and experts will be hoping that he keeps this up in the next games.
This game didn’t change the result, but it did give India a chance to try something new. As a test, Rishabh Pant was put in for KL Rahul, who has been having trouble with his form. India also wanted to try out new ways to hit the ball, which is why they moved Axar Patel to No. 4.
When Arshdeep Singh joined the fast-bowling attack, it sounded like India might have a long-term plan for their bowling attack. Indian bowler Arshdeep took a lot of wickets in T20Is last year, so he hasn’t had many chances to play in ODIs. But since Bumrah isn’t there, Arshdeep might be very important to India’s plans for the future.
After this ODI series is over, India will focus on the Champions Trophy. After a good India vs England game, they have done many things to get ready. However, crucial issues like middle-order defense and bowling power still need to be addressed.

Before the competition, England will need some time to get back on track. The impressive performance of Kohli and Gill in the third ODI demonstrated how deep and adaptable Indian is.
Before the Champions Trophy, both sides will be under intense pressure to ensure that their preparations are flawless and that their vulnerabilities are addressed. This is due to the fact that they will face challenging teams.
