Michelle Trachtenberg, renowned for her roles in “Harriet the Spy,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and “Gossip Girl,” passed away on February 26, 2025, at the age of 39. At the time of her death, she was in a long-term relationship with talent agent and producer Jay Cohen.

Jay Cohen: A Multifaceted Career

Jay Cohen is a partner at The Gersh Agency, which is one of the oldest talent companies in Hollywood. He is in charge of film financing and marketing. Cohen had a successful career on Wall Street before moving into the theater business. He got his start in making movies by accident.

When he got to Los Angeles, he helped pay for a movie and took over when the first directors messed it up. After that, he started a production business with actor Dustin Hoffman. He oversaw the 2009 “Bride Wars,” 2005 “Two for the Money,” and 1994 “Swimming with Sharks.”

Personal Life and Family

Beyond his professional career. Jay Cohen is a father of two adult children, Rachel and Lili. On the internet, he has many images and videos of them. He delighted everyone at Lili’s wedding in November 2023 by welcoming a new daughter-in-law into the family.

Relationship with Michelle Trachtenberg

First linked in 2020, Michelle Trachtenberg and Jay Cohen had been together since 2014, when Trachtenberg joined The Gersh Agency. Although they kept a few people informed about their relationship, they occasionally posted images of their lives together on social media.

Cohen shared a photo of him with Trachtenberg on July 4, 2021, under the hashtag “#fireworks are every day with this one!!” Trachtenberg answered with a Valentine’s Day message in February 2025, only two weeks before her sudden death.

Michelle Trachtenberg’s Passing

On February 26, 2025, Michelle Trachtenberg was found unresponsive in her New York City apartment and was pronounced dead at the scene. She just got a fresh liver transplant, which could have worked against her. The cops claimed they were not looking at a filthy secret related to her death. Regarding Trachtenberg’s death, Jay Cohen has not given public comments yet. The death of an outstanding actor still saddens the film industry.
