Venus Williams has mixed sports wear with high fashion in ways that have made her a style star both on and off the court. Venus Williams is a tennis great, but she is also a real fashion innovator. To be fair, she loved fashion long before she was one of the best sports ever. Venus learned how to sew with her mother, Oracene, when she was a child.
In those formative years, Venus became interested in fashion when she made clothes for her dolls. “Making patterns is a real joy of mine,” she once said. Knowing how clothes are put together makes you much pickier when you’re shopping. This hands-on approach to fashion set the stage for her fashion impact. Venus’s mom even made her the first skirts for professional tennis.
They were for the 1994 West Classic. These early events showed how deeply Venus’s sense of style was a part of who she was. Venus’s mother helped her develop a strong sense of style and a deep understanding of how clothes are put together, which would affect her choices and designs for years to come.
Venus’s love of fashion went from being a fun hobby as a child to a serious goal as her tennis career took off. She got an associate’s degree in fashion design and in 2007 started her own popular clothes line called EleVen. Her idea came to life through the brand, which combined style and fitness to give women the confidence to enjoy both.
Venus was able to combine her two loves, tennis and fashion, into a successful brand called EleVen. This brand has since had an impact on both sports and daily wear. Venus never stopped pushing the limits in sports or fashion, even as she old. She is still a style star at 44, and people often see her at big fashion events around the world.
She made a big splash at Christian Dior’s Culture Spring 2025 show in Paris in January 2024, where she wore an all-black dress with a zipper front that showed off her polished taste and willingness to take risks with her style. Venus went to the Lacoste Paris Fashion Week show at Roland Garros two months later.
She wore a stunning all-green outfit that showed off her natural style and sense of fashion. Venus also has an impact on fashion through her social media accounts, where she often posts beautiful photos and peeks of her life. Venus recently had a photo shoot for Harper’s BAZAAR’s October 2024 issue, where she once again showed how captivating her style can be.
